| Short description of the master´s programme | The goal of the MSc Statistical Data Science is to train the new generation of data scientists, by empowering them with a broad range of foundational and applied skills in statistics and machine learning. The programme is 12 months in duration and includes several core modules in statistics. These modules cover the foundations of statistical data science and prepare students for more advanced coursework. The MSc Statistical Data Science is aimed at students who have an undergraduate degree in a discipline with quantitative skills, and who have covered some basic topics of statistics. As an EMOS labelled programme, some students have the opportunity to take modules and a project on official statistics, and potentially receive the EMOS certification for their degree. The EMOS MSc Statistical Data Science also includes a research module, which is provided in the form of an internship at an institution whose work involves official statistics. The MSc Statistical Data Science is the only EMOS accredited programme in Ireland and it is ideal for students that are seeking a specialization in official statistics, with career opportunities in Ireland or abroad.
