| Short description of the master´s programme | The international Master in Statistical Sciences is organised into three tracks: Data Science, Health and Population Analytics, and Official Statistics. The track in Official Statistics allows students to learn methodological tools and develop specialist skills useful to produce and analyse official statistics at national and international level for data-driven policy and decision-making processes. It extends over two years: studies during the first year mainly focus on methodological tools in statistics; the second year consists of courses that enable students to acquire specialist skills and a compulsory internship in institutions producing official statistics. Graduates will be able to plan data collection and define, analyse and interpret indicators from databases for studying and monitoring social, economic and demographic phenomena from both a static and a dynamic standpoint. They will have access to national and international statistical positions in institutions and research centres producing official statistics. |
