![]() | Ruth Brand Ruth Brand studied economics and completed her doctorat at the University of Hannover. She worked at the Federal Employment Agency before joining the Federal Statistical Office in 2001. From April 2020 to December 2022, Ruth Brand lead the Procurement Office of the Federal Ministry of the Interior and for Home Affairs. On 1 January 2023, she was appointed President of the Federal Statistical Office and Federal Election Commissioner. |
![]() | Sophie Limpach Sophie Limpach is currently Director in Eurostat in charge of the Resources Directorate since 16 January 2024. She was appointed Director by the European Commission on 1 March 2019 to lead the Business and Trade statistics Directorate within Eurostat. She had been working in Eurostat since 2001, first as administrator in budget and human resources and then as Head of Unit in several areas of business and trade statistics (e.g. short-term business statistics, tourism statistics, international trade in goods statistics, production of manufactured goods statistics). |

![]() | Pedro Campos Pedro Campos is Director of Methodology at Statistics Portugal. He holds a PhD in Business Sciences from the University of Porto where he serves as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics, teaching Statistics, Data Analysis, Machine Learning, and Information Systems. Additionally, he is the Deputy Director of the International Statistical Literacy Project (ISLP) and leads the Statistical Literacy team at GIST, contributing to global efforts in promoting statistical literacy. He is also a member of LIAAD (Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Decision Analysis) at INESC TEC. |

![]() | Albrecht Wirthmann Albrecht Wirthmann is Head of the unit Methodology and Innovation in official statistics at Eurostat, European Commission, and the Chair of the EMOS Board. In his career he has been working in different areas of official statistics, such as economic environmental accounting, GIS and regional statistics, information society statistics and innovative projects related to Big Data and Trusted Smart Statistics. He holds a degree in Physical Geography, Botany and Chemistry by the Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz. |

![]() | Tina Steenvoorden Tina Steenvoorden holds a M.Sc. in Official Statistics. Since 2023, she has been working as an external contractor providing services as an EMOS Team Member at Eurostat. She is experienced in metadata and quality reporting, GSBPM implementation, user satisfaction surveys, and monitoring compliance with the European Statistics Code of Practice. |
![]() | Joseph Nyajuoga Joseph Nyajuoga is an EMOS student at Örebro University, Sweden. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Statistics (Statistical Modeling and Data Science) at Örebro University, and is on the EMOS-labelled track. Originally from Kenya, he moved to Sweden after being awarded the Swedish Institute Scholarship for Global Professionals. Previously, he worked as a Data Analyst at a telecommunications company in Kenya, where he developed a deep interest in data science and statistics. As part of the EMOS Network, Joseph participated in the EMOS Coding Lab 2024 and is eager to share his experiences. |
![]() | Ulf von Kalckreuth Ulf von Kalckreuth is Principal Economist-Statistician at the Deutsche Bundesbank. He is research co-ordinator with a focus on methodological innovation. In recent years, much of his time is devoted to measurement concepts for sustainable finance, as well as enabling statistical work with fintech. He received a habilitation degree in Economics from the University of Mannheim “on the job”, and he set up the German PHF, a large panel survey on household finance. His research involves mostly empirical work on household and firm behavior. He was among the organisers of the EMOS video course on Economic and Financial Statistics. |
![]() | Dario Buono Dario Buono is Team Leader of Methodology, the European Master in Official Statistics (EMOS) and the European Statistical Training Programme (ESTP) at Eurostat. He holds a PhD in Economics and has been working at Eurostat since 2008. He is an expert/trainer in Time Series Econometrics, VAR modelling & Macroeconomics Forecasting. His research interests include measures for uncertainty around point estimates and the use of LLMs and AI for Official Statistics. |

![]() | Markus Zwick Markus Zwick is Head of the Institute for Research and Development in Federal Statistics at Destatis. He is engaged in different national and European projects concerning the implementation of unstructured data into official statistics. Markus Zwick has been working at Destatis since 1996. From 2001 until 2012 he developed and led the Research Data Centre of Destatis. From 2012 until 2016 he was responsible for the project ‘European Master in Official Statistics’ as Seconded National Expert at Eurostat. He is Honorary Professor for Statistics at the Goethe University Frankfurt and Editor-in-Chief for ‘ASTA- Wirtschafts- und Sozialstatistisches Archiv’, one of the two journals of the German Statistical Society. |

| Sofia Rodrigues Sofia Rodrigues is the Head of the Administrative and Business Data Unit at Statistics Portugal and holds a degree in management. Throughout her professional career, she has extensive experience in several statistical fields, including National Accounts; Planning; Business Registers and Business Statistics. Since 2019, she has been responsible for managing the team focused on collecting and analysing data from companies and institutions through online surveys, and administrative and other sources. Her work supports the production of official statistics and the provision of reliable and accessible data for scientic research. |
![]() | Petr Mazouch Petr Mazouch is Associate Professor and Head of Department at the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics at the Prague University of Economics and Business. He graduated from the University of Economics, Faculty of Informatics and Statistics (Ph.D.) in 2010, majoring in Statistics. Since 2006, he has been employed first at the Department of Statistics (until 2010), then also at the Departments of Demography (2010-2011) and Economic Statisticians (from 2010 – until now), which he has headed since 2018. In his pedagogical and scientific work, he mainly focuses on the quality of economic data and demography. He is a member of various expert commissions at the national and international level. |
![]() | Monica Pratesi Monica Pratesi is Director of the Department for Statistical Production at the Italian National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT), Full Professor of Statistics at the University of Pisa (PhD in Applied Statistics) and Member of the Board of the Italian National PhD programme in Artificial Intelligence, area "Al for Society". She is a member of the International Statistical Institute (ISI), past President-elect of the International Association of Survey Statisticians (IASS) and has been President of the Italian Statistical Society (SIS) and Director of the Camilo Dagum/Tuscan Universities Research Centre on Advanced Statistics for Equitable and Sustainable Development. She has coordinated national and international research projects and has been referee and editor of Italian and foreign scientific journals. With an extensive research record at the national and international level, she has published numerous works, with particular reference to survey methods, poverty statistics and Citizen Science topics. |
