9th EMOS workshop, 26-27 October 2023, Prague, Czech Republic
The 9th EMOS workshop took place on 26 and 27 October 2023 on the premises of the Prague University of Economics and Business in Prague, Czech Republic, bringing together around 90 representatives of EMOS-labelled master’s programmes and of organisations producing official statistics, EMOS Board members, EMOS students and graduates, European Central Bank and national central banks, international organisations and Eurostat. The objective of the workshop was to exchange experiences, showcase good practices and explore ideas for the future development of EMOS.

On the first day of the workshop, Thursday, 26 October, presentations by Eurostat and the Directorate General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture gave participants an overview of the latest developments in the European Statistical System and the higher education sphere at the European level respectively.
Following the presentations, two panel discussions with speakers from a range of organisations took place, on the topics of traineeships and employability of EMOS students and graduates and of the expansion of collaboration and strengthening of cohesion in EMOS.
In the evening, all participants were invited to join a social dinner.
Friday, 27 October 2023
The second day of the workshop, Friday, 27 October, was organised by the study team contracted for identifying options for the future development EMOS and assessing their feasibility.
The main objective of the second day of the workshop was to co-create viable options for the future development of EMOS alongside its key stakeholders. Through group work, participants actively engaged in brainstorming and idea-sharing sessions. The focus was on identifying potential barriers and challenges that may arise during the implementation of these proposed solutions.
