Target GroupNational statistical business registers staff and the users of the statistical business registers (SBR). This course is intended for NSIs staff responsible for the production and validation of the statistical business registers data or working on production of business and trade statistics making use of the statistical business registers.
Entry Qualifications
  • Sound command of English. Participants should be able to make short interventions and to actively participate in discussions.

Objective(s)

To provide the participants with statistical skill set on national statistical business registers, including:

  • a general overview and an understanding of the SBR coverage and content

  • an overview of the SBR production process, data sources used and quality management

  • a better understanding of SBR roles and uses in the statistical production

The sessions include information about:

  • Roles of statistical business registers

  • Coverage of SBR

  • Statistical units and variables

  • Data sources

  • Demographic events

  • Quality management

  • Users and uses of SBR

Expected Outcome

At the end of the course, participants should have a better understanding of SBR and its use as an authoritative source for deriving high quality and harmonised statistical business register populations.
