What inspired you to choose an EMOS-labelled master’s programme for your studies?

I chose an EMOS-labelled master’s programme because I aspire to work in an international environment and value the opportunity to study in English. The chance to pursue a double degree with another EMOS university was particularly attractive. I've always been fascinated by the European Union’s work, and collaborating with Central Banks and National Statistics Institutes offers a unique opportunity to engage with their impactful efforts. This programme aligns with my career goals and academic interests.

During your studies, have you participated in any activities dedicated to EMOS students?

During my studies, I had the opportunity to participate in the EMOS Coding Lab 2024, which was an enriching experience. I really enjoyed collaborating with students from different universities and improving my skills in RStudio. Additionally, I got in touch with Eurostat's dissemination environment, which was
extremely insightful. I believe the knowledge and skills I gained from this experience will be very useful in my future career.

Have you already completed your EMOS internship?

I am currently doing my EMOS internship at the Italian National Statistics Institute (ISTAT), focusing on tourism statistics. Although it is not yet completed, the experience has been highly formative. It is giving me the opportunity to see firsthand how data are collected, analyzed and then disseminated, providing valuable insights into the extensive work behind the final results. The internship is helping me grow by working with colleagues who share their expertise.

Would you recommend a fellow student to choose the EMOS track at your university?

Yes, I would highly recommend the EMOS track at my university to fellow students. The program offers exceptional opportunities, such as internships with public institutions both in Italy and across Europe as well as the chance to study abroad at another EMOS university. Moreover, having courses taught by researchers and employees from ISTAT, the Bank of Italy and FAO provides invaluable insights and strengthens the learning experience. These aspects make the EMOS track an excellent choice for anyone interested in a career in statistics.

Has your EMOS study experience prepared you for your future academic and career pursuits?

I don't have a definitive answer to this question yet, as I am still completing my studies. However, I am confident that everything I have learned through the EMOS programme will significantly aid me in my future academic and career pursuits. The skills and knowledge I have gained so far have been invaluable and I
believe they will continue to be beneficial.
