Artificial Intelligence

Chair: Rafael Schmidt (BIS)

AI has the potential to transform all stages of the statistics lifecycle. The session will review the state of the art with reports on AI initiatives, research and progress since the topic was last publicly discussed at the 2023 SDMX Global Conference. While attention has focused most on leveraging LLMs to enhance data discovery, other use cases for generative AI, RAG techniques and more traditional machine learning are also emerging such as helping users better understand the standard. The session will conclude with an interactive discussion aimed at identifying and prioritising opportunities for the application of AI both within SDMX and through enhancing interoperability with other standards
