Quick facts

The training session aims to enhance the quality of metadata content, aligning with the ESS handbook for quality and metadata reports and the Accessibility guidelines.

 

Target Group

The training session is aimed at Eurostat domain managers and national professionals who use the ESS MH to collect, transmit and / or validate metadata and quality reports.

 

Objectives

The objectives of this course are to enable participants to improve the quality of metadata content, ensure accessibility, and apply best practices in filling-in metadata reports, based on the ESS handbook and Accessibility guidelines. 

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Enhance the quality of metadata content, following the ESS handbook for quality and metadata reports and the Accessibility guidelines.
  • Apply the quality checklist to ensure the correctness of information in the metadata, using the ESS handbook as a reference.
  • Utilize solutions and tips to check and correct metadata information, including the use of AI prompts for quality improvement.
  • Implement the accessibility guidelines to ensure compliance with Eurostat's accessibility standards, as outlined in the Accessibility guidelines.

 

Contents

The course will cover the following key topics to enhance metadata quality and accessibility:

  1. Short Metadata View Concepts: Focus on the concepts selected for the short metadata view and provide instructions, guidelines, and examples based on the ESS handbook on how to fill in the information. 
  2. Quality Checklist: Participants will learn how to use the quality checklist to verify the correctness of information in the metadata concepts, using the ESS handbook as a reference.
  3. Solutions and Tips for Quality Improvement: The course will provide solutions and tips on how to check and correct metadata information, including the use of AI prompts for quality improvement, as an example of innovative approaches.
  4. Accessibility Guidelines: Participants will be introduced to the accessibility guidelines, to ensure compliance with Eurostat's accessibility standards.
  5. Live Demo example.
