ShowVoc course

Target Group

The training session is aimed at Eurostat and national professionals who would like to access Eurostat’s statistical classifications, correspondence tables or metadata catalogues.

Objectives

To show participants how they can use the ShowVoc platform to:

• Search, browse and download statistical classifications;
• Search, browse and download correspondence tables;
• Understand how statistical classifications are structured and made available as Linked Open Data;
• Extract and download data using ready-made templates (SPARQL) for more advanced searches.

Contents

The course will cover the information and functionalities available to users and will include:

• The purpose and role of the ShowVoc platform;
• An overview of the main functionalities of ShowVoc;
• A brief introduction to Linked Open Data;
• A quick overview of SPARQL query language and ready-to-use query templates;
• A live demo of the application;
• Practical exercises/applications with step-by-step guidance.
