The Command Line Interface (CLI) I a ‘flavour’ of the Converter that can be installed in a local PC and that can be used to perform conversions in batch.

The SDMX converter can be accessed in different forms all of which can be downloaded. The Command Line Interface (CLI) is the recommended ‘flavour’ for statistical production. Before installing locally the CLI on a PC please read the available documentation and ensure that:

  • JRE 7.0 or 8.0 is installed on the machine;
  • The JAVA_HOME environment variable is set and points to your JDK installation.

The SDMX Converter WebApp, which is the favoured ‘flavour’ for beginners and one-off users, can help you in generating the parameters for validating or converting files via the CLI. After validating or converting a file using the WebApp, you will find in the ‘Result’ step the CLI parameters to be used for executing the same job using the CLI.
