Abstract

The purpose of the survey is to determine the number of employees, their earnings (monthly and hourly), structure and distribution thereof in the country’s economy by sectors, types of economic activity, enterprise size, employees’ professions, education, length of service in the enterprise, age, gender, etc.

The main users of statistical information are the country’s government authorities and public administration institutions, the media, representatives of business and science, and European institutions.

The evaluated key survey parameters:

  • number of employees, including full-time and part-time employees;

  • conditional number of employees;

  • gross earnings funds and average gross monthly earnings;

  • earnings for overtime, bonuses for working in shifts, at night;

  • on days off and holidays;

  • annual premiums, bonuses and other one-time payments;

  • average gross hourly earnings;

  • number of weeks to which the annual gross earnings relate;

  • number of hours and overtime paid;

  • number of annual vacation days;

  • number of other non-working but paid days.

The survey is carried out by the Labour Statistics Division.

The survey has been carried out since 2002, every four years, based on the European Union legislation governing the survey. The survey is selective, carried out by sample methods.

Time period

The survey period is a reference year and October of the reference year.
