Abstract

The Labour Force Survey is carried out on a continuous basis for 13 weeks of the yearly quarter. Each quarter, surveys on about 70,000 households in 1,246 Italian municipalities are collected, with a total of 175,000 individuals (equal to 1.2% of the total Italian population). The target population of the survey consists of all members of the family officially residing in Italy, including those who are temporarily abroad. Those normally living abroad, and the permanent members of the group quarters (hospices, orphanages, religious institutions, barracks, etc.) are included.

The survey provides quarterly estimates of the main aggregates of the labor market (employment status, type of work, work experience, job search, etc.), disaggregated by sex, age and region.
