Abstract

The Mobility and Transport Microcensus (MTMC) provides information about the travel behaviour of the Swiss population : vehicle ownership, driving licenses and public transport season tickets, daily travel volume and reasons for travelling, means of transport used.
MTMC series were run in 1974, 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 2000, 2005 and 2010.

Notes

- Until 2005, the survey was named 'Microcensus on Travel Behaviour (MCTB)'. However, since 2010, the survey has taken the name of 'Mobility and Transport Microcensus (MTMC)' as it has become part of the larger integrated system of the new Federal Population Census. For clarity reasons, we use the new name for all the studies. Other sources on the internet could however use the old name, since the have not been updated since 2005.
- There are no international guidelines.
