Following the EMOS permanently open call for universities to apply for the EMOS label, by the annual cutoff date of 31 December last year, the EMOS Secretariat had received two applications:
The Mendel University in Brno, a member of the EMOS network since 2020, applied to award the EMOS label to their new master’s programme ‘Economic Modelling and Applied Statistics’.
Another application was received from the Bratislava University of Economics and Business, which applied for the EMOS label for the first time for their master’s programme ‘Data Science in Economics’.
Following the recommendation of the EMOS Board, the European Statistical System Committee (ESSC) - the highest decision-making body in the EMOS governance structure -agreed to award the EMOS label for the next five-year period to both the master’s programme offered by Mendel University in Brno and the master’s programme offered by Bratislava University of Economics and Business.
Congratulations to both universities, and a warm welcome to the new EMOS network member, the Bratislava University of Economics and Business!
The EMOS network now consists of 32 EMOS-labeled programmes at 31 universities across 18 countries.
