The Statistical Data and Metadata eXchange (SDMX) is an international standard whose aim is to make it easier to exchange and share statistical data and metadata. The SDMX standard describes in the Information Model all the components in a data and metadata sharing scenario and their relationships. The standard also includes guidelines and technical specifications that facilitate the understanding of SDMX users.
SDMX is sponsored by eight international organisations, including Eurostat. The international standard is used by national statistics institutes and central banks, international organisations and the private sector.
