Abstract

Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia obtains data on the registered unemployed workers from the Employment Service of Slovenia. Registered unemployed persons are by the definition people who are actively looking for work, they are not employed, self-employed, they do not manage personal companies or one-person companies with limited responsibility or other organizations, they are not farmers, retired, high-school students, apprentices, students or adult education participants, younger than 26 years of age; they are capable of work, registered at the Employment Service, actively looking for work and are willing to accept appropriate or adequate employment, which would be offered by the Employment Service or by any other provider of employment service. Information such as: level of education of an unemployed person, duration of unemployment, receiving financial support due to unemployment, are included in these register data.
