The methodology follows the World Health Organisations recommendations, and particularly the International Classification of Impairments, Disabilities and Handicaps, in force during the year the survey is carried outThree macro-surveys were conducted in 1986, 1999 and 2007: the Survey on Disabilities, Impairment and Handicaps, the Survey on Disabilities, Impairment and Health Status and the Survey on Disability, Personal Autonomy and Dependency Situations, respectively.

The methodologies follow the World Health Organisation recommendations, and in particular, the international classifications in force during the year when the survey is carried out.
