Abstract

The main aim of ULF/SILC is to document the welfare situation in Sweden. This series of SCB surveys started in 1975, since 2008 it has been completely integrated with the EU-SILC data collection program.

Since the start the program has developed gradually. At the start the surveys recorded the welfare components health, economy, employment, education and housing. In 1976 leisure and social relations were added, and in 1978 civic activities, transport and personal security. Because of the size of the surveys these topics were grouped together and rotated biannually as 4 main topic, health, work, social relationships and physical environment. From 1986 a panel element were introduced.
