Abstract
The overall aim of the Permanent Survey of Living Conditions (POLS) is the continuous collection of high quality and consistent data on the situation of the Dutch population. This series is collected as part of the sub-module law and participation (REP) and aims to collect data on participation in community activities, including participation in volunteering, in giving help to others outside organizations (the so-called informal care), and participation in leisure activities primarily cultural and recreational terrain. Also social contacts with neighbors, friends and acquaintances are mapped. Finally, some questions about wellbeing and about the time people would like to spend on paid work, housework and volunteer work compared to the time they actually spent are posed. Furthermore satisfaction with various aspects of living conditions is measured.
