Abstract
Statistical Survey on Population Health (every 5 years): https://open-data-ls-osp-sdg.hub.arcgis.com/pages/Kas%205%20metus%20atliekamas%20gyventoj%C5%B3%20sveikatos%20statistinis%20tyrimas
The purpose of the survey is to prepare and publish detailed and comparable with other countries of the European Union (EU) statistical information on the population health status, health care, health determinants and the use of health care services.
The main users of statistical information are the country’s state institutions and agencies, Eurostat, the European Commission, the World Health Organization, the United Nations Organization, the media, politicians, business and scientific representatives, students, pupils.
The main evaluated indicators:
- residents’ assessment of their own health;
- share of the population suffering from any chronic disease or having long-term health disorders;
- share of the population whose activities were restricted due to health disorders;
- share of the population suffering from specific chronic diseases;
- share of the population that has experienced an accident or injury;
- share of the population with physical and sensory impairments;
- share of the population with difficulties in self-care and housework and the need for help;
- share of the population with psychological difficulties;
- share of the population who used inpatient health care and day center services;share of the population who used outpatient or care services at home;
- share of the population who used medicines;
- share of the population who used specific preventive measures (influenza vaccination, arterial blood pressure measurement, blood sugar control, etc.);
- share of the population engaged in physical activity by duration, nature and frequency of the activity;
- distribution of the population by the frequency of consumption of fruit and vegetables, alcoholic beverages and tobacco;
- share of the population who are obese and overweight.

The survey has been conducted since 2005. The survey is carried out using the sampling method.
Time period
Survey periods: current period (variables indicating the person’s usual condition, related to physical and sensory function disorders, self-care, housework), usual week (variables related to physical activity), two weeks (variables related to medication use or mental health), four weeks (variables related to pain, health care), 6 months (variables related to self-rated health), 12 months (variables related to illnesses, accidents and injuries, absenteeism, health care services and alcohol consumption).
