Abstract

Statistical Survey on Inbound Tourism: https://open-data-ls-osp-sdg.hub.arcgis.com/pages/atvykstamojo-turizmo-statistinis-tyrimas 

The purpose of the survey is to prepare and publish statistical information on the number of foreigners arriving in Lithuania, their categories (one-day visitors or visitors for one or more nights (tourists), visitor characteristics (gender, age), number of trips and purposes, number of overnight stays, vehicles used and type of travel accommodation and travel expenses. The main users of statistical information are the country's state institutions and bodies, the European Commission, the media, politicians, business and scientific representatives, students, etc. 

The evaluated parameters:

• number of tourist trips;
• number of overnight stays of arriving tourists;
• expenses of arriving tourists;
• number of trips of one-day visitors;
• expenses of arriving one-day visitors.

Parameters are evaluated in various areas: gender, age groups, by destination, type of accommodation, type of vehicle, type of expenses, country of permanent residence of a foreigner.

The survey is carried out by the Transport and Tourism Statistics Division.

Annual statistical information on inbound tourism has been prepared and provided to users since 2007. The survey is carried out using sample methods. Parameters are estimated using probability sampling methods.
