Abstract

The Statistics of the Foreign Resident Population (PETRA) describe the size and the composition of the resident population of foreign nationality as well as their movements during the calendar year.
PETRA is compiled from data from various administrative registers, mainly from the Federal Office for Migration and the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.
PETRA is no longer available: the information on the size and composition of the foreign population was integrated in STATPOP (Population and Household Statistics) in 2010, and the one on movements in 2011.
