Abstract

The purpose of the Survey on Time Use is to collect the data on the use of time for population according to different socio-economic characteristics and habits. Time Use Survey series follows recommendations of international project Multinational Time Use Survey (ADP IdNo: MTUSW552). In Slovenia the first general population study about time use patterns was already included in another international project, that is Szalai Time Budget Survey (ADP IdNo: TBS). The Survey on Time Use was carried out continuously from 1 April 2000 to 31 March 2001 by the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia. The survey for Slovenia was harmonised with Eurostat's recommendations and is supposed to be carried out every 7-10 years. After 30 years, 2001 study was the first one that uses elaborated approach using dairies technique of daily activities, combined with the main personal interview questionnaire, that includes basic demographic questions about respondents and households.
