Abstract

The Norwegian Survey of Housing was conducted in 1967, 1973, 1981, 1988 and 1995. The purpose was to give a broad description of living conditions in Norway, based on information about the size and standard of housing compared to household size, composition and attitudes. The assignment was given by The Norwegian Ministry of Local Government and Labour, and data was gathered by Statistics Norway. The survey provides a very detailed description of housing conditions and contributes in this way to a description of living conditions. Data on housing conditions and living conditions are also to be found in the Living Conditions Surveys. From 1997 the collection of housing data is fully integrated into the new arrangements for the collection of living data.
