The EMOS Board held its meeting on 12 June 2024 in Luxembourg. The board discussed the EMOS annual report for 2023 and was informed about the decisions of the European Statistical System Committee (ESSC) on the renewal and award of the EMOS label. Next, Eurostat presented the lessons learnt from the first edition of the EMOS mobility programme that concluded in April 2024. The future development of EMOS was discussed based on the expert analysis report, and the way forward in developing a concrete proposal was agreed upon. The EMOS board, together with Eurostat, will work on three main areas: (1) the definition of objectives, mission and value statement, (2) EMOS label requirements and learning outcomes, and (3) future development opportunities. Finally, the proposals for the programme of the annual EMOS workshop taking place in Wiesbaden in November 2024 were gathered and discussed.
