Redesigning EMOS-labelled master’s programmes, January 2024 (video)
EMOS-labelled master’s programmes monitor the developments in statistics, and data science as well as the skills and labour market needs. In this meeting, Prof. Stepan Mazur from the Orebro University School of Business, and Prof. Alina Jedrzejczak from the University of Lodz presented their experiences in recently redesigned programmes to fulfil these goals.

Research and thesis project collaborations with organisations other than NSIs, February 2024 (video)
Besides National Statistical Institutes, there are many other organizations that can support EMOS students. In this meeting, the Universities of KU Leuven, ENSAI, NOVA Lisbon and Rome ‘La Sapienza’ will share their experiences with external partners with which they work together to support EMOS students for their thesis and research activities.

EMOS network meeting on communication, March 2024 (presentation)
Effective communication, engagement, and cooperation are key to the success of EMOS. Sharing information on EMOS informs the network members and students – both existing and potential – of the opportunities that the programme offers. The EMOS network meeting on communication was organized to present recent communication activities and plans and to gather experiences and ideas from the network. The EMOS Secretariat would like to utilize the full potential of the new and more modern platform hosting the EMOS website, as well as recently launched EMOS Linkedin page, to increase outreach and interaction within the EMOS network.

NSIs supporting EMOS, April 2024 (video)
National Statistical Institutes are key actors in the EMOS network. Especially in countries where the number of EMOS Universities and students is already high or is increasing, it is fundamental for NSIs to efficiently organize the different activities they carry out to support their partner EMOS programmes. In this meeting, Istat (Italy) and Destatis (Germany) will present the activities that they organise for EMOS students, including annual internships programmes and open days.

Information session on the Joint Research Centre (JRC) scientific traineeships programme, April 2024  (presentation)
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is the European Commission's science and knowledge service. They provide independent, evidence-based knowledge and science, supporting EU policies to positively impact society. Exploiting data as a strategic resource for science and policy is part of JRC’s work programme.

The JRC runs several human resource initiatives that are interesting for the EMOS network:
-    JRC research fellowships (for doctoral students and senior scientists)
-    JRC scientific traineeships (for students).

DG EAC on Staff Exchange and Doctoral Networks, May 2024 (presentation)
Presentation from the Directorate-General (DG EAC) responsible for the EU Commission's policies on education, youth, sport and culture on the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action, specifically MSCA Doctoral Network (DN) and Staff Exchange (SE).
